Michael Best Strategies Principal and Senior Public Affairs Advisor Evan Zeppos joined the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Southeast Wisconsin Chapter for their end-of-year event on December 18 called “Stories We Couldn’t Stop Talking About in 2019 and A Look Ahead to 2020.”
Zeppos, a longtime member and former president of the PRSA chapter, spoke to the group at the Italian Community Center in Milwaukee and focused on the political landscape locally, nationally and across the country. In his remarks, Zeppos said that 2020 would be a “landmark year” for Wisconsin politics with all eyes focused on Milwaukee for the Democratic National Convention in July. He said while the event will be a huge undertaking, the entire state will become the epicenter in the battle for its electoral votes in the presidential election.
Zeppos also discussed upcoming races of note including the Milwaukee mayoral race, the Milwaukee County Executive race, congressional races in the 5th and 7th districts in Wisconsin and the race for the state supreme court.
Zeppos was joined on the panel by Beth Weirick, CEO of Milwaukee Downtown BID #21, who discussed development in the area and Steve Wexler, Vice President and Market Manager of WTMJ Radio, who talked about trends in the news and the ever-changing media landscape.
