Democratic candidate for Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District, Deb McGrath, released the first ad of her campaign this week. The ad will air on TV at a later date as part of a six-figure buy. In the ad, aptly named “Jump”, McGrath references her experience as an Army officer in airborne school, her experience serving in the CIA, and what motivated her to seek public office. “I’m running for Congress because of the sky-high cost of everything,” McGrath says. Arguing that “Wisconsin needs a representative who thinks for herself, works with both parties and fights for women’s rights,” McGrath then says “I approve this message, because sometimes it takes a mom to get things done.”
McGrath will face off against State Sen. Brad Pfaff, small business owner Rebecca Cooke, and La Crosse Ald. Mark Neumann in the Democratic partisan primary August 9th. The winner of the primary will compete against Republican Derrick Van Orden during the November 8th general election.
