Michael Best Strategies is pleased to share that Lucia Alonzo, a principal based in the D.C. office, has been elected president of the Hispanic Lobbyists Association (HLA) for 2023-2024.
With more than a decade of experience serving clients on Capitol Hill, Alonzo focuses on developing and executing policy strategies to help her clients achieve their business objectives. She regularly advises on appropriations and the federal budget, homeland security, defense, transportation, tax, immigration, workforce, education, healthcare, and economic development.
The HLA is a non-profit, non-partisan trade association dedicated to advancing Hispanic representation in Washington’s advocacy industry. Alonzo has been actively involved in the organization, previously serving as vice president (2021-2022), communications director (2019-2022) and chairing the HLA’s 2021 and 2022 Avanza Awards.
