Brandon concentrates on government relations, policy research, and legislative affairs, using his knowledge of the legislative process to promote his clients’ business objectives.
Brandon’s Expertise: Policy Research, Legislative Affairs, Communication, and Government Relations
Prior to joining Strategies, Brandon served as a Legislative Assistant for U.S. Senator Ron Johnson (WI). In this role, he was responsible for creating policy proposals, talking points, and other communication for committee hearings and principal-level engagements. As the Senator’s Lead Staffer for the Senate Committee on Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs, he conducted policy research, drafted legislative proposals and amendments, and offered vote recommendations.
Brandon also worked at The Heritage Foundation where he began as a Program Associate and advanced to the role of Government Relations Manager for exceeding engagement goals and successfully implementing departmental programs. Within this role, he was responsible for monitoring and analyzing legislative developments and formulated the Government Relations strategy to advance the foundation’s national security, foreign affairs, homeland security, technology, and trade policy objectives.
ADDITIONAL KEY EXPERIENCE
Earlier, Brandon served as a Correspondence Manager for U.S. Senator John Kennedy (LA) where he developed communications for constituent engagement and tracked policy developments relevant to the Senator’s priorities. He also supervised the Senator’s D.C. office internship program which included recruitment, training, and daily supervision.
