Amy is an associate at Michael Best Strategies in the Corporate Communications Group, bringing extensive experience in strategic communications, public relations, and crisis management. With a robust background in religious organizations and nonprofit sectors, Amy has honed her skills in developing integrated messaging strategies, managing media relations, and advising leadership on public response to various communications challenges.
Earlier in her career, Amy served as the associate vice president for convention communications on the executive committee of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). In this role, she implemented integrated messaging strategies, advised leadership on public response strategies for multiple communications crises, and improved the public’s understanding of the SBC's message, mission, vision, and ministries. She also coordinated messaging strategies for the SBC Annual Meeting and played a pivotal role in encouraging and involving women in the SBC.
Before her tenure at the SBC, Amy was the director of marketing and communications at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. There, she developed a crisis communications management plan, led public relations efforts during multiple crises, and oversaw the seminary's publications. Amy's strategic vision included the "GO" branding campaign and the redesign of the institution’s primary websites. As the seminary's spokesperson, she regularly interacted with local and national media, enhancing the public's understanding and support of the institution’s mission.
