A proud U.S. Army veteran who served on active duty for six years as a combat medic, Charles is adept at working on challenging issues and applying the values he learned in the military to be a trusted adviser and force-multiplier for clients.
Before joining Michael Best, Charles was the Deputy Director of Membership for the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA) in the Washington, D.C. metro area. In this role, he researched policy issues and drafted communications in support of legislation relevant to the U.S. Army and military veterans. Charles also oversaw AUSA’s global recruitment and retention programs, which encompassed more than 63,000 individuals and nearly 4,000 businesses. Earlier, Charles interned with a Washington D.C. public policy think tank where he provided research and analysis on the annual National Defense Authorization Act. He also served as a Congressional Intern for a member of the U.S. House of Representatives where he assisted with casework related to veterans’ issues.
