Overview

Meg is a Legislative Assistant with Michael Best Strategies. She assists the Strategies team and clients with a wide range of legislative, political, and regulatory issues, particularly in the environmental sector. As part of her role, she regularly conducts research to provide clients with insightful updates and analyses.

Prior to joining Strategies, Meg gained experience tracking legislation as a Federal Legislative Intern for the Wildlife Conservation Society. There, she regularly reported on congressional hearings, markups, bills, and proposed amendments, with a focus on appropriations and international development. In her role as a Legislative Intern for U.S. Congressman Mike Quigley (D-IL), she wrote memos for senior staff and the Congressman on environment, equality, healthcare, and foreign policy topics, and regularly attended and reported on congressional briefings.

While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Meg served as a research technician for the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, where she managed a sustainability platform for systems change. She also worked as a sustainable forest management education program assistant. Beyond university, Meg volunteered with the Pacific Spirit Park Society and interned with the Felidae Conservation Fund.
