Washington, DC – Last night, Michael Best DC hosted an event with Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce keynoted by former Congressman and Chair of the House Armed Services Committee Mac Thornberry.
The discussion, facilitated by the lead of Michael Best’s Defense & National Security Practice, Erik Berdy, covered ongoing challenges to national security, the threat China poses, and areas where Republicans and Democrats can find common ground. Conversation placed a particular emphasis on the impact that Wisconsin manufacturers can have in the ongoing policy conversations that will shape our national security strategy for years to come.
“The United States faces a more comprehensive threat from China to our societal, economic, and national security than ever before,” said Congressman Thornberry following the discussion. “This is ultimately a values competition, and the technologies we buy and use must be built with democratic values. I was honored to speak with manufacturing, energy, and business leaders from Wisconsin on how their work is critically important to our national security.”
