Alyssa’s Expertise: Government Relations, Finance, and Legislative Affairs

In her role, Alyssa serves as a trusted advisor to the head of the Federal Government Relations Group, providing strategic guidance and thought partnership on major initiatives and projects. Her responsibilities include cultivating a high-performance working environment, optimizing structure and processes, and developing and empowering team members. Alyssa plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the team, identifying opportunities for growth and fostering stronger business partnerships.

Alyssa is also instrumental in enhancing the group’s visibility and expanding its business opportunities. She collaborates closely with the group leader to identify and connect with prospective clients, leveraging her political and industry expertise to drive value and develop meaningful relationships.

ADDITIONAL KEY EXPERIENCE

Before joining Michael Best, Alyssa served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Senator Pete Ricketts (R-Nebraska), overseeing key operational aspects of the Senate office. She successfully managed a $4 million budget spanning multiple office locations, including Washington, D.C., and Nebraska. Alyssa also handled personnel functions such as staff development, evaluations, hirings, and terminations. She supervised front office teams and internship programs, ensuring efficient services to constituents. Additionally, Alyssa maintained records and acted as a liaison between the Senator’s office and various Senate entities, fostering smooth operations and effective communication.

Alyssa has also served in key roles for several other senators, including roles as Administrative Director for Senators Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyoming), Mike Lee (R-Utah), and Cory Gardner (R-Colorado). In these roles, she managed budgets each exceeding $3 million, oversaw personnel management and office policies, and facilitated smooth operations of the Senate offices.
