Crisis Communication

When a crisis happens in the workplace, media relations and messaging may not be top of mind, but they are an important aspect of an organization’s response. On September 19, 2018, an employee of Middleton, Wisconsin-based software company, WTS Paradigm, shot four fellow employees.

WTS Paradigm, following the shooting, enlisted the help of Michael Best Strategies and Jeff Gallagher for help. WTS Paradigm’s needs covered a variety of areas including messaging immediately following the incident, coordinating media coverage of the CEO’s first press availability after the incident and helping the company plan its responses both before and after the Dane County District Attorney issued its report on the shooting.

The MBS Public Affairs team also helped prepare WTS Paradigm’s leadership for a news conference and coordinated media coverage when they held a special event this spring to honor the brave first responders who risked their lives on the day of the shooting (you can read more about the event here).

MBS’ Public Affairs Team was honored to help the leadership and employees of WTS Paradigm as they continue to recover from this tragic event and we look forward to working with them in the future.
