Lane Hickman

Lane assists the team with strategic communications and provides support on government relations and legislative matters.

Prior to joining Michael Best, Lane served as a Legislative Assistant for North Carolina State Senator Danny E. Britt (R). Within this role, she managed and organized the Senator’s schedule, coordinated lobbyist and constituent meetings, and served as a committee clerk to the Senate Judiciary and Senate Transportation Committees. She also recorded bill statuses and facilitated changes requested by the Senator. Lane initially joined Senator Britt’s staff as an intern. In this role she coordinated constituent correspondence, maintained and tracked bills introduced by Senator Britt, conducted local media research, and crafted various letters to constituents.

Lane also acquired invaluable experience completing an internship with the Senate Republican Caucus. There, Lane organized fundraising events, managed monetary contributions to candidates, tracked spending reports, and conducted opposition research. She also served as the organization’s Interim Finance Director.
