Michael Best Strategies LLC (Strategies), a fast-growing national government relations firm, announced today that public affairs veteran Tami Jackson Buckner has joined as a Partner in the D.C. office. Buckner, an experienced and well-respected legislative strategist, will bring her unique understanding of federal, state, and local issues to provide strategic counsel to clients of the firm’s growing Washington, D.C. office, as well as clients throughout the United States.

Buckner has spent more than 25 years advising Fortune 500 companies, developing deep policy expertise on issues ranging from agriculture, food, and nutrition to energy and the environment. She joins Strategies from Waste Management, where she led the federal legislative and political function in Washington, D.C. Previously, Buckner held corporate leadership positions in government and public affairs at Kraft Foods Group, The Coca-Cola Company, and DuPont.

Buckner is a native of Miami, but currently resides in Washington, D.C. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Business Administration from Hampton University and a Master of Public Policy, magna cum laude, from Clark Atlanta University. She sits on the Board of Trustees at Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
